You are literally paddling to your plate on this great Aussie adventure. Start your tour in River Tribe’s authentic Toyota Troopy for a transfer to the kayak launch point. Here you will get a few tips and tricks from Tim, your friendly and very keen paddler. Tim is eager to show you all you need to know for a safe and fun adventure down the Mighty Murray. He also offers tuition and/or can be a guide for you on your trip down the Murray (see upgrade options for further details).
Settle in for your kayak along the broad and Mighty Murray as it majestically flows and pushes you along the 7km stretch of the 2,500km river. You will thoroughly enjoy the Murray River vistas and its large stands of gum tress, flocks of cockatoos and look out for the short-necked turtle and Murray River crayfish. If you can’t spot one maybe you will see a large lawed Macrobrachium shrimp or a broad-clawed yabbie.
Stop at a river beach for a splash and maybe you will see a ‘roo or two hoping through the bush. Look up in the gum canopy and a keen eye will spot a koala. The Murray has significant cultural relevance to Indigenous Australians. According to Indigenous stories, the Murray was created by the tracks of the Great Ancestor, Ngurunderi, as he pursued Pondi, the Murray Cod.
As you approach your destination you will see the Olive Grove atop the Murray River banks, and bright orange flags will guide you in to the next stage of your adventure.
Tim will take you on a tour around Rich Glen Estate, one of the largest family owned and operated olive groves in Australia. Situated on the banks of the Murray, Rich Glen Estate has 36,000 olive trees of Nevadillo, Manzanillo, Frantoio, Kalamata and Lecino varieties. Rich Glen has a well-established café and shop where you can browse the extensive locally produced products.
Your tour ends with a bang… a glass of Rich Glen Punch (soft drink) and a share platter of house made dips, Estate grown olives, Signature EVOO, Dukkah, local butchers meats, homemade traditional Slovenjian Salami, Boosey Creek cheeses, dried fruit, nuts, crusty bread, crackers & a garden salad with Pop.

You are kayaking the Mighty Murray! This is a little true blue Aussie adventure. Experience the broad and Mighty Murray as it majestically flows and pushes you along Australia’s longest river, at 2,508 kilometres in length. The Murray rises in the Australian Alps and meanders across Australia’s inland plains, forming the border between New South Wales and Victoria.
Your tour starts below the Yarrawonga weir wall. Built in 1939 it is approximately 230 km downstream of Lake Hume and 1,992 km from the Murray mouth. As you launch take a look up the weir wall – the wall is the largest structure for miles around.
You will thoroughly enjoy the Murrays River vistas and its large stands of gum tress, flocks of cockatoos and look out for the short-necked turtle and Murray River crayfish. If you can’t spot one maybe you will be lucky and sight one of the large clawed Macrobrachium shrimp or a broad-clawed yabbie. A keen eye will spot a “Canoe Tree”, if you paddle far enough you can find one at the entrance to Bruce’s Bend.
The broad bends in the river, the gentle flow and the large river beaches make for a scenic and fun adventure. Your kayaks are built for stability and comfort and children can share a kayak with mum or dad or if you are over 16 hire a kayak of your own.
