1. Beechworth to Everton/Tarrawingee or Wangaratta 
With the sights, sounds and smells of classic Aussie bush accompanying you along the way, the Beechworth section of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail follows the spur line through the former Baarmutha Station site, crossing bridges and culverts that were considered engineering masterpieces when they were constructed. A free wheeling journey as it’s all down hill!

Wangaratta to Milawa
The Milawa Gourmet Ride from Wangaratta to Milawa is a flat and gentle ride, and just long enough to work up an appetite for all that magnificent gourmet produce. Pedal quiet country roads as you pop in and out of cellar doors, farm gates, cafes and providores.

Bright to Wandiligong 
A magic, family friendly addition to the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, this easy 11km return ride follows Morse’s Creek out to the picturesque, heritage listed village of Wandiligong which was born out of the 1850’s gold rush. Enjoy a riverside picnic or meander along the very quiet, looping road, visiting local apple and nut orchard farm gates and imagining life in times gone by.

Rutherglen to Wahgunyah 
In a wine region blessed with abundant sunshine, and long languid summers a ride along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail from Rutherglen to the banks of the mighty Murray River in Wahgunyah is a charm.

Myrtleford to Bright 
This gobsmackingly beautiful leg of the Rail Trail meanders alongside the Ovens River, vineyards, hops producers, orchards and groves. Hop from cellar door to farm gate to providore, before reaching your destination in Bright where you can rest and relax by the river with a local brew (beer or coffee) in hand.

Bike hire for only $30/day

Giant Hybrid bikes with suspension in the seats and forks, built for comfort and the best bikes for the rail trail – only $30/day. Includes helmet, bottle carrier, puncture repair and pump kit.

​Towable bike trailer hire for only $15/day 
Carry your luggage behind you. This is the easiest and most cost efficient way to take your belongings with you. Suitable for up to 50kg of luggage – more than enough for 2 to 4 guests. The trailer is easy to tow along the smooth surface of the rail trail.

Transfer services – Murray to Mountains Rail Trail
Luggage, bikes and guests can be transferred with ease. This pick-up and drop off service goes anywhere you need and from from only $20/person. The costs below are for up to 4 guests for additional guests please add $10/guest (includes bike, luggage and guest).

  • Wangaratta – Milawa $40/person – reverse is available

  • Wangaratta – Beechworth $55 – reverse is available
  • Wangaratta – Bright $65 – reverse is available
  • Wangaratta – Myrtleford $60 – reverse is available

Rates are per person, based on 4 share. Additional passengers are $10/person.

Luggage, bikes and guests can be transfer with ease with a pick up and drop off service to anywhere you need. Costs below are for up to 4 persons.

Cycle support 
River Tribe can provide support services along the trails and rods and can meet you at anywhere in times of need. Costs are based on the above transfer service costs.

Camping equipment hire 

Camping equipment can be picked up from Wangaratta or near Beechworth.

  • 2 man tent – $10/day. 
  • Sleeping bag with mattress – $10/day. Dry-cleaned cotton bag liner.
  • Camp kitchen – $10/day.  Includes 1 x stove, gas, plates, utensils, pots, cloth.
  • Camp set for 1 – £25/day. Includes tent, sleeping bag with foam matt, Camping kitchen including mini stove, gas, plates, utensils, pots, cloth.
  • ​Camp set for 2 – £35/day. Includes tent for 2 people, 2 x sleeping bags & foam matts, Camping kitchen including mini stove, gas, plates, utensils, pots, cloth.

BEECHWORTH 

Some locals refer to it as Beechy and all know it for its boutique shopping, great coffee, award winning restaurants and its amazing old heritage listed buildings and streetscapes. This is River Tribes favourite place to visit. Here is our top 5 things to do in Beechy…
